IS ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH IN YOUR WILL?

ABORTION: “The question is no longer whether we are on a slippery slope, careening downward toward a world of machine-tooled and stunted humanity – a world in which love is displaces by technique and longing by special planning.  We’re on a slope all right, and the question is whether the brakes can be applied soon enough.”  (George Weigel, The Southern Cross, 1/09)
Suggested Prayers: That God of love may forgive us for rejecting so many of His unborn children, given as gifts of His love, we pray.

FAMILY PERSPECTIVE: Before ascending to heaven, Jesus told us to “proclaim the gospel.”  The great St. Francis of Assisi added to this when he said:  “Preach always and sometimes, if necessary, use words.”  We preach by how we live.  What is the message preached by your family?

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ENVELOPES: Capital Improvement envelopes, for our extraordinary repairs, are in the back of the church on the radiators next to the bulletins.

Annual Catholic Appeal - $8,940
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT - $7,830 - Thank you for your sacrificial giving!

YOUNG ADULTS (18-35): August 15-22, 2011, World Youth Day is being held in Madrid Spain.  In countries other than the United Sates, participants in “World Youth Day” are young adults, not high school students.  The Office of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry in the Toledo Diocese is therefore offering a WYD pilgrimage to Madrid for young adults.  If you are interested please email Sr. Marie Schroeder at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Estimated cost for flight, airline taxes and fees, lodging and YWD registration $2994.  The pilgrimage includes five days in Spain before the WYD events (August 10-15).

FOUNDATION FOR LIFE: You are warmly invited to a Pro-Life Legislative Briefing Breakfast on Saturday, June 13th, from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 6165 Levis Commons Blvd., in Perrysburg.  This event is hosted by the Toledo Right to Life Society and features Congressman Bob Latta and Ohio Rep. Randy Gardner.  You will receive an up-to-the minute briefing on the status of the Freedom of Choice Act and updates on related life-issue legislations at the state level.  The cost is $25 a person and includes a full-buffet breakfast.  For more info or to RSVP contact Paige at 419-535-5800 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
