IS ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH IN YOUR WILL?

ABORTION: “For many years I have been an outspoken advocate for the unborn child, because in a culture of abortion, the child is like a slave.  The new civil rights movement of our time is the pro-life movement.”  Dr. Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King (Priests for Life Newsletter, July-August, 2006)
Suggested Prayers: For families facing an untimely pregnancy, that they may turn to God for the strength to give birth to a new life, we pray.

FR. POGGEMEYER ON RETREAT / VACATION: Father is gone from the parish until June 20th.  On this Sunday, June 14, 2009, Fr. Poggemeyer will be celebrating his 12th year of ordination.  He asks that we pray for him on this special day.  Please keep him in your prayers for a safe return.

ROOF PROJECT UPDATE: We recently received the letter of approval from the Diocese allowing us to contract Seagate Roofing to replace our existing roof.  There will be tear-off all the way down to the slats below the cedar shakes of the original layer.  Then a newly shingled roof that looks much like the present one will be installed.  Scaffolding will begin to go up on Monday, June 22nd.  Weather permitting, the work should be done in well under two weeks.  Please continue to remember this project in your donations.  Thank you!

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION this weekend.  Light refreshments will be served in the Sacred Heart Room after the 10:30 A.M. Mass.

DEACON PRAYER CHAIN:  One hundred fifty-five (155) Deacons throughout the diocese are praying twice a day for those who have asked for prayers.  If you have any prayer needs please e-mail them to Deacon John Campbell at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

SUNDAY BEGGARS AFTER MASS:  The parish just distributed $2300 of your generous donations for the poor, from the vestibule basket, to various local outreaches in Toledo (Heartbeat of  Toledo, Foundation for Life, Women Blessing Women, Padua Center, Assumption Outreach, Helping Hands of St. Louis, Bowling Green St. Thomas Moore University Parish).  If local people approach you for donations after Mass, you do not have to give them anything.  They are aware of the outreaches, and we give them the names of these outreaches for help when they ask.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ENVELOPES:  Capital Improvement envelopes, for our extraordinary repairs, are in the back of the church on the radiators next to the bulletins.

Annual Catholic Appeal - $9,700
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT - $8,980 - Thank you for your sacrificial giving!

LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC MEDIA: The CD’s available in the back of church are only $3.00 per CD.
