ABORTION: “This is not a debate about religious doctrine or even about public options.  It is a debate about our understanding of Human dignity, what it means to be a member of the human family, even though tiny, powerless and unwanted.”  Rep. Henry Hyde during the House debate on the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2000, NRL News 12/00
Suggested Prayer: For all those who make their living from abortion, that they may be converted from destroying life to protecting it, we pray.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE: In our family we are taught to respond to the needs of each other.  But it does not stop there.  Today’s gospel reminds us we have responsibility to our brothers and sisters across the world who are not from our immediate family.  Families are designed to be launching pads, not dead ends.

CAREY PILGRIMAGE was impressive.  Thank You to all the parishioners who attended and to those that couldn’t attend but prayed to make our First Annual Pilgrimage a success.

FORTY DAYS FOR LIFE: Thank You to all who participated either in the Church Adoration or praying at the abortion clinic.

TOLEDO DIOCESE HISTORY BOOKS: Books will now be available in the sacristy after all weekend masses.  Cost $30.00.

PRAYERS FOR PRIESTS: Prayers for Clergy, Religious and/or Groups of Individuals for each day of October is now available on the back radiators.

CATHOLIC LIGHTHOUSE MEDIA: All new titles coming soon, such as How to Bring Fallen Away Catholics Back.  Details will be coming.

DIOCESE PRIESTS RETIREMENT APPEAL envelopes are in the pews.  You may drop these in the regular collection basket.

TOTUS TUUS MARIA GIRL’S GROUP will be having a Bake/Craft Sale the weekend of October 25th in the Sacred Heart Room.  All proceeds from the sale will support Fr. Poggemeyer’s priest friend parish in Mexico.

ST VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY collection was $318.  We will be sending them $500 as the donation from our parish.  The additional $182 will be made up from our previous Poor Collections.

“Take this Sacrament away from the Church and what will remain in the world except for error and infidelity?  But by this Sacrament the Church stands, faith is invigorated, and the Christian religion and divine worship flourish."
-- St. Bonaventure
