IS ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH IN YOUR WILL?

ABORTION: A former worker at a Dignitas clinic told the London Daily Mail that she began to see the clinic not as a compassionate place for ending lives but as a money-making killing machine taking advantage of the disabled and terminally ill. (Life News, 6/1/09)
Suggested Prayers: That those who have been blinded to the humanity of the unborn may open their eyes to the truth, we pray.

“DEAR PARISHIONERS, this coming Tuesday-Friday I will be attending a Conference on the Latin Mass in Chicago, IL.  It is sponsored by the Canons of St. John Cantius, a religious community that promulgates and maintains the Traditional Form of the Mass.  Please keep the conference in your prayers this week.  Thank You!” …Fr. Poggemeyer

DIOCESAN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: For reservations, call Joyce at the parish office, 419-255-5556.  Deadline for reservations is September 9, 2009.

DIOCESE CENTENNIAL: Our Diocese will be celebrating its 100 year Centennial with some special items commemorating this event.    Celebration will begin in October of this year.  We now have available the book "A History of the Diocese of Toledo".  They will be for sale before the weekend masses for $30.00.  A Centennial Rosary will be available later.

DID YOU KNOW?: That St. Joseph’s had 4 schools.  The first was located on the corner of Cherry and Erie;  the second was our present sacristy;  the third was our former rectory building;  the fourth was our present school building.

PRAYERS FOR PRIESTS: With this year being the Year of Priests, Parents of Priests of the Diocese have started a daily prayer chart and prayer for Clergy, Religious and Groups of the Diocese.  It is available on the back radiators next to the bulletins.

“The Father in heaven urges us, as children of heaven, to ask for the bread of heaven.  [Christ] himself is the bread who, sown in the Virgin, raised up in the flesh, kneaded in the Passion, baked in the oven of the tomb, reserved in churches, brought to altars, furnishes the faithful each day with food from heaven.”
-- St. Peter Chrysologos
