ABORTION: “Stem cell research opens new prospects for regenerative medicine and is morally permissible when it used stem cells taken from adult organisms, but not when it takes cells from human embryos because that invariably causes their death.”  (The Dignity of a Person, Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, 12-08)
Suggested Prayers: That God’s commandment, “Thou shall not kill,”  may once again extend to the unborn children, we pray.

FR. POGGEMEYER ON RETREAT / VACATION: Dear Parishioners, I will be going to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, June 8-19th.  Five days fulfills my canonical retreat obligation; then I will spend some days of vacation with a priest friend in Mexico City who studied with me in the same Scripture program in Rome.  Please pray for my retreat, and the vacation days.  I will miss one weekend of Masses with you.  My priesthood is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, because of much Hispanic work I did in Columbus while in seminary.  I am eager to visit Her shrine.

ROOF PROJECT STATUS:  We decided on a roofing company, after obtaining three bids.  We sent the quotes and a cover letter of explanation to the  Diocese.  For any project over $20M a parish has to get diocesan approval.  Hopefully we can start the work soon after the Diocese responds.  Please keep remembering this Capital Improvements project in your donation.
