IS ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH IN YOUR WILL?

ABORTION: If you paid attention to the media, you would think that those who oppose embryonic stem cell research and a host of other laboratory-created life techniques are “anti-science.”  But this is not a science debate.  It’s a debate about ethics, morality and what is right and wrong.  (Wesley Smith, NRL News, June, 2008)
Suggested Prayer: That we may remain alert to every opportunity to speak of the value of each human life, we pray.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE: The Christmas season pressures families to buy and consume.  Today’s gospel warns:  “Be on guard and alert” lest you get caught up in the buying frenzy.  The most important shopping you can do is in your own heart to discover what you can change.  It is not what you get or give which makes the difference this Christmas, it is who you become.

EWTN HOST: The Ministry to catholic Charismatic Renewal and Knights of Columbus are sponsoring two events featuring EWTN Host Marcus Grodi, the founder of the “Coming Home Network International” on December 11 and 12 at All Saints Catholic Church and St. John the Baptist Church respectively.  Marilyn Grodi will also be speaking at a women’s breakfast on December 12.  Call 419-691-6686 for reservations and more information.

CATHOLIC LIGHTHOUSE MEDIA will have all new CD titles and still the same price.

ENVELOPES are in the vestibule.  Please take yours and check your name and address.  If it has changed or if you are not currently receiving envelopes and would like them, please fill out a Membership Form on the back radiators and put it in the collection basket.

TOLEDO PHILOSOPHER’S meeting this week at St. Rose’s 5:00P.M.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL is proud to present its annual Sounds of Christmas show on Sunday, December 13 at 4:00 P.M. at the Valentine Theatre.  The Sounds of Music is a delightful way for your entire family to usher in the Christmas season.  Tickets are $7 and $10 and may be purchased by calling Central Catholic High School at 419-255-2280 or online at www.centralcatholic.org under Alumni & Friends>Events.

TOLEDO DIOCESE HISTORY BOOKS: Books will now be available in the sacristy after all weekend Masses. Cost $30.00.

CATHOLIC CHRONICLE is available in the vestibule.
