ABORTION: "The sick person in a vegetative state, awaiting recovery or a natural end, still has the right to basic health care (nutrition, hydration, cleanliness, warmth, etc.) and to the prevention of complications related to confinement in bed." --Pope John Paul II, addressing the International Congress on Life-Sustaining treatments and the Vegetative State, 3/20/04NOTE FROM FR. MAJOROS: Last Saturday & Sunday the outpouring of kindness in celebrating my birthday was outstanding. I am truly grateful for your generosity and effort to make the day special. Even though I am no longer your pastor, there is still a family relationship between us, which I treasure. Be assured of my prayers for all of you. It is my privilege to assist Fr. Poggemeyer in promoting your spiritual welfare.
PRIEST’S RETIREMENT APPEAL: They’ve taught us… guided us… counseled us… and have been there when we needed them. Let’s return the favor! Please support the annual Diocesan Priests’ Retirement Fund Appeal. Envelopes are in the pews.
UNA VOCE: The October Una Voce meeting will be held this Thursday, October 20, after the 6:00 P.M. Mass, this will be a business meeting only. We encourage and welcome all to attend who are interested in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass to help explore new ways of promoting this traditional, sacred option of offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
ATTENTION ALL HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES: St. Augustine’s HEP-Toledo, a Catholic Classical Studies Program, is offering optional classes in Physics 1 and Choir to homeschooling high school students beginning the week of October 17, 2011. Physics classes are held on Wednesdays from 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., the Choir meets every Tuesday between 2:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M.. Each semester is 14 weeks in total and has a fee of $98/semester (14 weeks at $7.00/week). Choir classes run differently. The class is open to all students between the ages of 9 and 18. Each class is $5.00 and will run 12 weeks/semester. (This semester for Choir has already begun so a family would be prorated for the weeks not attending). "When we go before the Blessed Sacrament, let us open our heart; our good God will open His. We shall go to Him; He will come to us; the one to ask, the other to receive. It will be like a breath from one to the other."
--St. John Vianney
